Lokomotiv Moscow captain Dmitri Loskov has revealed that the Parovozy thoroughly deserved the 4-2 win against Zenit St. Petersburg following their standout performance at Lokomotiv stadium.
Loskov was talking to the media following their comprehensive home win over the Russian premier League leaders. Lokomotiv managed to score four goals in the second period of the match to ensure the three points against the Meshki.
The former Saturn Moscow Oblast midfielder admitted that it was a difficult match in which they had be on their toes. The Russian national expressed his joy after the Moscow-based club came from behind to score fabulous goals.
“The first half was bad but none of us were carried away by the 2-0 score line. We kept our head high and got the result. Everyone did his best to get a win and throughout the second half of the match we were better.”
Loskov highlighted that it’s not the first time Lokomotiv came from behind to win a particular tie. The midfielder gave the example of their UEFA Europa League tie against Brondby IF, when they conceded two goals early on in the match but still managed to
score four goals at home.
“We had previously come from behind to win against Brondby in the UEFA Cup. We were two goals down but still managed to get four goals against the Danes.”
The Railroaders are yet to lose a match in the leadership of Jose Couceiro. The 37-year-old revealed that the manager is going to have
a selection headache owing to a bust schedule ahead.
Lokomotiv are playing in the Russian Premier League, Russian Cup and the UEFA Europa League at the same time.
