The fact that RSC Anderlecht were the only side to have beaten Lokomotiv Moscow in the group stages of UEFA Europe League is tough to digest for the Parovozy defender, Alberto Zapater, who has urged the Loko to win against the
Belgian outfit in the last group stage match in Brussels.
Anderlecht made a scurrying start to life in their group with a 2-1 home win against AEK Athens and have not looked back ever since. The Belgian outfit has claimed all 15 points from 5 group stage ties, and are certainly the most
feared opponent at the moment.
Zapater, who joined the Moscow-based club from Sporting Lisbon in the last transfer window, has admitted to the humiliation they faced after the 2-0 home defeat against the Purple & White.
He has now tipped his side to extract revenge by winning the upcoming encounter.
“The Belgians are enjoying perfect results in Europe and it tells that they are an opponent to beat. We will try to win and take revenge for the home defeat this time around. Nobody likes to lose, regardless of status and importance
of the match.” The former Real Zaragoza player was quoted as saying.
He added: “We have a chance to claim the top spot on the group table. A place atop the table will only benefit us.”
The Spanish national is of the view that Lokomotiv are not afraid of any force that will come their way and they are capable of taking on any European club with Jose Couceiro in charge.
Couceiro, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991. He has led the Red-Greens to the knock-out stages of the European tournament while also guiding them up the Russian Premier League table despite a poor start.
Zapater admitted that Lokomotiv have become more stable since the Portuguese tactician took over as the head coach and predicted a bright future for the Russian outfit under his management.
Loko are already through to the next round of the Europa League. However, they will play the last group stage match on December 14 against Anderlecht in a bid to claim the top spot on the group table.
