Olga Smorodskaya has ruled out selling Glushakov to Zenit St. Petersburg and has denied the rumours linking http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 a move back to English Premier League
Lokomotiv Moscow president, Olga Smorodskaya, has poured water on the media claims that the Russian Premier League club is likely to sell their prized asset, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-Glushakov-c10855, to Zenit St. Petersburg during the winter transfer window.
The 56-year-old denied that Glushakov will be leaving Lokomotiv stadium anytime sooner after clearly indicating that the player, who joined them from FC Nika Moscow, is not for sale at any cost.
There is little arguing to the statement that the defending league champions have long been tracking Glushakov. They came close to sing the 25-year-old Russian International earlier this summer but failed to conclude a business
after being priced out by the Railroaders.
However, if speculations are to be believed, the St. Petersburg club are still trying to get their target and are ready to offer around 15 million Euros for the Russian midfielder, who has already made 18 appearances this season.
“There are no conversations with Zenit on the sale of Glushakov. We are rather interested in keeping him until the end of his contract. We do not consider the option of selling Glushakov and I tell you that all the talk about his
departure to Zenit or Spartak is nothing but rumours." The Railroader president was quoted as saying.
Speaking on Roman Pavlyuchenko’s proposed transfer, Smorodskaya denied the rumours linking the Russian striker with a move back to English Premier League.
“Pavlyuchenko is not going anywhere. The player has been unfortunate not to play more games this season as he sustained repeated injuries. He needs to be more careful about his fitness in the near future,” He concluded.
News in Russian media suggested that English outfits including Queen Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Reading are weighing up a shocking 10 million Euro bid for the former Tottenham Hotspur man following the player’s fine form this season.
Though Pavlyuchenko have not made too many starts in the ongoing season, the former Rotor Volgograd attacker has already scored four goals.
