The prolific defender has urged the Russian national team to kick start the European tournament by winning the opening game against Czech Republic

Glushakov has insisted that he is not afraid of competition for places among the squad, conceding that the he completely trusts Advocaat. He added that he expects the manager to make fair decisions.
“Every footballer wants to play in bigger tournaments. We all want to perform successfully on the Euro. Each of us is very ambitious and wants to win the tournament.”
"It is always good, when you have some competition. It is bad when you don’t have it. I must try to prove the right to play in the Euros. There are experienced players in our team. They have developed a good understanding between
them. But I think if the coach will give me a chance, I will not let him down.” The former Nika Moscow player was quoted as saying.
The 25-year-old midfielder has conceded that Advocaat, who will step down as Russia’s head coach after the continental tournament, is fully focused on the national team despite signing a contract with PSV-Eindhoven last month.
