Lokomotiv Moscow’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/José-c19246 Couceiro desperate to reclaim glory days
Newly appointed Lokomotiv Moscow head coach, José Couceiro, is desperate to lead the railway men back on track with successive wins.
José Couceiro talked about plans to strengthen the squad, transfer targets and his decision to move to Lokomotiv after the training session ahead of the friendly practice match against Hungarian club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ferencvárosi-TC-c39257.
Couceiro started his coaching career with Alverca in Portuguese league and stepped up as a caretaking manager for Primeira Liga club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431 Brito. Lokomotiv tabled a concrete offer and the Portuguese
signed a two-year contract with the Russian club.
The Portuguese national was delighted with his decision to come to the Russian Premier League and revealed that the club is fantastic with some key areas needed to be fixed, which are hindering the club’s road towards success.
“First of all, it’s a great honor for me to be at Lokomotiv - a nice, big club. Of course, there are some problems, but they appeared before me.” The tactician was quoted as saying.
The 48-year-old revealed that the railway men are lacking confidence on the pitch which has limited them to a single win in seven matches. The Portuguese national remained tightlipped over the transfer targets and insisted that they don’t need to speculate
any names and disrespect any player.
“Thoughts are there, but I do not want them to sound. Consider this question closed. I respect all of you, but such topics at a press conference I will not discuss.”
Couceiro highlighted the fact that the railway men are having difficulty in composing a squad with two stoppers ineligible to play against Ferencvárosi, namely http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458 and Jan Durica.
“Da Costa, we cannot say until start of August, and Durica, because of the suspension, will not play on July 24 in the Russian championship match. I need more understanding of who to replace them with.” He concluded.
Lokomotiv Moscow have failed to land any silverware since 2004 but the Railway men are desperate to end their worst run, under the new manager.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 boss believes that he can turn the table around and can bring the glory days back to Lokomotiv and assured that the team has already adapted to his style and the Russian club can only increase their confidence to kick start winning.
