Lokomotiv Moscow’s Jose Couceiro shocked after defeat to RSC Anderlecht: UEFA Europa League news
In the latest round of the UEFA Europa League group stage fixtures, Lokomotiv Moscow lost 2-0 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RSC-Anderlecht-c40394. It was Lokomotiv’s first defeat since appointment of the head coach, Jose Couceiro.
Having won 2-1 in the opening day European encounter against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SK-Sturm-Graz-c40536, the Moscow-based club crashed to a defeat against the Belgium club in the latest European fixture.
Talking to the media, Couceiro revealed his dissatisfaction following a shocking display and apologized to the fans. The Portuguese national promised that the Russian outfit would come back stronger when they take on AEK Athens in the upcoming European fixture
at home.
In group stage of the Europa League, the Lokhi have been drawn against Anderlecht, AEK Athens and Sturm Graz. The Parovozy have now slipped to the second spot on the group table as a result of the humiliating defeat to Anderlecht.
“We did not deserve to lose and we never thought we would lose that way. It is clear that the missed opportunities have cost us the match. We controlled the game well enough but apart from our mistakes, we were bettered by the referee decisions on the pitch. There
were five referees on the pitch, but they still make mistakes.” The manager said to the media.
Talking of the opponents, the manager added:
“Anderlecht are a good team, but we did not deserve to lose. Nevertheless, we will continue to fight in the European League and try to get maximum points in our group.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 boss revealed that Lokomotiv gained great experience from this game. Couceiro revealed that the Purple and white have a terrific manager, Ariel Jacobs, and highlighted that the Anderlecht coach has been working with the Belgian club for
over five years.
Couceiro expressed his desire to claim one of the two positions on the group table in order to progress to the knock-out stages of the Europa League. In the meanwhile, the Portuguese tactician urged his team to focus on the upcoming Russian Premier League
encounter against Anzhi Makhachkala.
