Lol i need nba live 06 help(xbox 360 version)?

yea lol how the h**l do you shoot free throws...like i pull back on right joystick then push up an shoots it but NEVER makes it in...i think since iv'e played iv'e only made 1/29..lol can someone tell me how i can actually make it
