Manchester City coach, Attilio Lombardo has admitted that Bosnian international, Edin Dzeko still has a massive future ahead of him at the club and should try and focus on making a name for himself in the team.
Over the last couple of weeks, Edin Dzeko has been linked with a move away from City, since the striker doesn’t seem to be settling down at the club.
It seems like he is looking to secure first team football, instead of being a second half sub and feels that this is no longer possible at the Etihad Stadium.
The Bosnian kicked off the previous campaign being on top of things, but as time passed, he was slowly pushed down the pecking order. By the second half of the season, he was nothing more than a second half sub, who was brought on to waste time or rest some
of the other players.
Last season, the forward went on to score a very impressive fourteen goals in the twenty eight appearances that he made for the team. This is despite the fact that he didn’t start in all those games.
Despite the forward looking to pursue his career elsewhere, Lombardo is confident that he can still have a very positive and prosperous future at the Emirates.
The City coach is quoted to have said: “Dzeko is a big player, and I think Manchester City want big players”
"It is not surprising because Dzeko for me is a player who can play here again for more time, but I don't know."
He then went on to talk about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526, as he admitted that he is still not sure if the striker will go on and complete his move to Tottenham.
When talking about the Togolese striker’s move to Tottenham, he is reported to have said: "I don't know.”
The way things are going, should City fail to offload their surplus strikers, they could end up having far too many forwards on their team.
Nonetheless, it is now going to be a wait to see just what will happen with the two strikers over the coming weeks.
