London, England - Is it cheaper to visit around there?

I'm dying to go to London, England (or the surrounding areas) and I've been talking to some people that live there and reading articles on visitlondon.com and they say it's rather pricey.

So I was wondering is it cheaper to stay at surround areas? Know of any good hotels (no hostels) or motels or attractions for cheap?

And by cheap, I mean like 29 pounds a night for the hotel stay (or around there).

  1. Have  look at the website Easy hotel, they have rooms from £25.

  2. London's rich areas are some of the most expensive in the world, but it is a city of many millions of people, and the vast majority are far from rich.  Like most places, it has a high-range, medium-range, and low-range for hotels, restaurants, stores, etc.  While London's expensive hotels, restaurants, etc. may be a lot pricier than most other cities, there are many other options.

I've been to London several times, and found it to be about average price for European cities for a budget traveler.  Almost all museums are completely free, as are churches, and it costs nothing to see most of London's beautiful architecture and interesting neighborhoods.  Many of the "attractions" that are expensive are tourist traps you wouldn't want to bother with anyway, like the London Dungeon or Madame Tussaud's.  There are many hotels in the 25-30 pound per night range in the Kings Court area (I can't remember specific names), so there's no reason to stay outside the city to save a few bucks when it would waste a lot of time and detract from your trip.  You don't need to rent a car - the Tube (the London subway) and other trains go everywhere you need and the unlimited zone 1-2 day pass is a great value.  London is a very international city, and there are a lot of options for good, cheap food - Indian, Thai, Greek, Middle Eastern, and many pubs serve traditional British food at a high quality for a reasonable price.  You can get discount theater tickets to almost all shows.

  3. Yeah stay at a BNB in outter London bed and breakfast :) I i ad a house I would let you stay for £100 a night big deals ay
