London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony to feature Adele and many others
It has been recently revealed by the artistic director of the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games that the closing ceremony of the international prestigious sporting event will be featuring a huge variety of creative musical performances.
The musical line up that has been planned for the London 2012 will be show casing the native cultural heritage of the United Kingdom over all these years.
As a result, the spectators as well as home viewers of the closing ceremony will be getting a different taste of English music as it evolved through each era.
The variety of music performances that are going to be exhibited at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games that is scheduled to take place on August12 will feature contemporary stars like Adele and Coldplay along with the musical contributions
of established classical artists such as Elgar and Holst.
Gavin commented on the elements of the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Games in the following manner, “We are taking a box of fabulously well-done tunes. We are putting them together to write one piece of music that is fabulously balanced. Usually it
is something classical but in this case it is an elegant mash-up of British music. It will not be just about the music but also about what makes Britain great. We are trying to introduce something that is an absolute melting pot of British creativity.”
The main orchestral music of the opening as well as the closing ceremonies of both the London 2012 Olympic along with the London 2012 Paralympic Games will be given by the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO). The total number of spectators who will be lending
an ear to the music produced by the LSO will be 80,000, which is the capacity of the Olympic Stadium.
Not only that, the closing ceremony will also have live acts put up by the volunteers of the Olympic Games as well as professionals. The total number of performing volunteers at the closing ceremony will be 4,100. On the other hand, the amount of professional
performers at the London 2012 closing ceremony will be 250 in all.
