Question:

London's hidden venues?

I moved in central London, and for the past months I've been trying to explore it in order to discover cute hidden venues for coffee or eating. I'm looking for small special places (not the indifferent trendy ones) with nice decoration and nice tasty menus... the kind of, which you could (not necessarily) go there for a date. They could be art cafe's, or moody bar-restaurants such as for example the Candid bar in Angel. Any suggestions?

  1. Rocket Lancashire Court Off Brook Street. Try the Raw Beef and Chip Salad- divine.

  2. There is a great cafe/bar/restuarant in West Hampstead called the Wet Fish Cafe (it used to be a fishmongers and still has much of its original tiling).  It has a really lovely atmosphere, and the food is really good.

You could go for a nice relaxed brunch or lunch, just a coffee during the day, or for a meal at night.  It would definately be a good place for a date, and was one of the only places I ever found in London that I liked enough to go back to!

  3. theres a really nice outdoor italian place in covent gardens! i dunno wat its called but ive been there a few times and the pizza  is lovely! Also if you ever go to camden and look around the markets, they have quite a few little chinese noodle bars and things like that which are really nice.
