London: East v West?

I'm moving to the capital but I'm not sure where the liveliest night spots are.

If I was to move West, I've got the likes of Shepherds Bush, Ealing and Soho; But

If i was to move East then there's the Likes of Shordich, Hownsdich, Clerkenwell, the city and Camden (okay, camdens north a bit)

Help me out good people...

  1. Live anywhere you can afford within zone 2 -  the tube and night buses mean everywhere's accessible

Soho's not west, it's in the middle, and you can get to and from it from anywhere. You won't be able to afford to live there unless you are related to Paul Getty. Ealing - not exactly hopping, don't know who told you that one; Shepherd's Bush - ethnically mixed and loads happening particularly on the arts side, but not as obviously full of nightlife as say, Hoxton; Shoreditch, Clerkenwell and Hoxton - alll fine and buzzy, but a bit full of posers for me (depends on your taste), the city - full of flash and shouty suits, no, no, no! Camden - v lively especially if you are gothy or grungy.

  2. Neither man. Stay away.

but if you must then west.

Also choose your area well. which ever end you land up in.

after all you don't want to mugged every day.

  3. The city and Shoreditch are mostly commercial districts and they're not so lively at night.  Camden is great for nightlife.  Clerkenwell is OK.

  4. WHAT has this to do with "Dining out"?

  5. If you like the busy market scene then west would be the best choice. But saying that it costs slightly more to live there than east.

  6. west is where its at! westside!

  7. been told by my bf to say weezy!!!!!

personally i dont care either way, i live west and obviously so does my bf. but i just moved here so meh. west is NICE tho. many a good night so far :-)

  8. um WEST. did you ever go to the "west end".... mental.

  9. people normally settle near work place or be near the family

in any case there is plenty of info on plenty of site on ur computer

study them first, and then maybe ask this question again to know what we suggest

in any case i would prefer to live first near ealing second choice will be shep.bush and kensington, but b'coz of affordability, i mite choose to live in east london

  10. Go west....much nicer, more up market, and more to do!!

  11. Depends wether you want to upmarket or downmarket....if you know what i mean
