Question:

London Fenchurch Street, old station?

Whenever I travel to Fenchurch Street, from the Southend direction, about 1 mile before we arrive at Fenchurch Street, the line to Liverpool Street cuts off to the north, across a bridge, then, about 1/2 (maybe less) before we get to Fenchurch Street, on the right hand side (same side as Liverpool Street run off) there is 1/2 a bridge, which used to have railway tracks on it, but now it is overgrown with weeds etc. Does anyone know where that used to go? Any websites with an explanation would be great!

Thanks,

Dave

  1. I thought it ran to a station serving Spitalfields Market, but I can't find any confirmation.  There is lots of information on the London and Blackwall Railway in Wikipedia.
