London: How much does a young couple need to earn per month?

You don't need to earn as much as these people are saying! I live with my boyfriend in camden and we live in a lovely 1 bed flat with living room and garden which we pay £430 each a month (not inc bills) and i earn approx £2,000 a month and this is fine for me as i have never been without money.

You just need to comprimise a little - either live further out and get a bigger property for cheaper, but pay more for travel or live close to the center and pay more but bike/walk/bus to work.

about £3500 to £4000 a month

if your lucky maybe even £3200, but that's pushing it

i suggest looking at the outskirts, the prices sometimes are much lower.

Sorry i cant help with info in london.

In leeds (where im from) i worked out around £500-600 quid a month for a house.

A flat i'm sure would work out less, just thought id give you this info for guidelines.
