Maybe, but China really really wanted to show the world what it can do. I don't know if London is that desperate.

sure.  anyone who visits london and doesnt have a great time has to be tired of life

london is the most exciting city in the world anyway, so imagine it with the olympics as well

Simply because it happens in 2012, and we'll be in the midst of the apocalypse!  Ahh!

Most cities who host the Olympics, usually try to outdo the prevous hosts. I think that London will give it a good try, but would rather that they concentrated on having a friendly games without spending silly amounts of our cash on all the razzamatazz that folk seem to expect. Surely the spirit of the Olympics is one of friendly sportsmanship, not how many fireworks and special effects that you can cram into a couple of hours in the opening ceremony!!

i doubt it will go ahead the new stadiums wont be ready until 2015
