I am going to be taking a trip to london and paris about a week and a half before christmas. Can anyone give me some kind of advice on what to expect...or what I should try not to miss while there? Thanks in advance!

  1. don't worry just enjoy your holiday..have a nice trip

  2. You are very lucky to be traveling at this time!  December is my favorite time to be in London.  The city really does a great job of becoming festive for the holidays.  It will be somewhat cold.  I would bring sweaters, gloves and a thick jacket.  Maybe a scarf and hat if you get cold easily.  It will not be unbearably cold, but if you’re going to be outside (where all the fun stuff is) for a bit it helps to bundle.  It likely will not snow unless there’s an unexpected dip in temperature.

Definitely check out the Christmas trees in Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden at night!  Also, take a stroll down Oxford Street at night and check out the lovely light displays all along the shopping district (tube to oxford circus)  While at Oxford Street it’s fun to go in toy shops and other stores that go all out for the holidays.  Hamleys toy store is great for making you feel like a kid at Christmas again! www.hamleys.com  I also found this site which lists some fun things to do in London around Christmas time http://golondon.about.com/od/decemberann...  Some of what I mentioned is on there, but they’ve got other suggestions as well.  I’m sorry I can’t help you with Paris but I did find some interesting sites from doing a yahoo search for “paris at Christmas,” like this one http://www.travour.com/christmas-celebra...  Enjoy your trip!  Cheers!
