  1. Too much to see. Windsor Castle and Eton College is great.  Get started early in the morning and go there. Then that night come back and get a great view of Parliment and Big Ben from across the Thames next to the London Eye.  Tower of London is great too but will take a big part of your day. But get there early in the morning too then St Pauls is not too far away.  Westminster Abbey is a must for the history buff so maybe you could catch that along with the Tower in a day.  A London Walk tour at night is nice too.

  2. Yes to all that, but check out Time Out as well....online on the link below and on sale almost everywhere in London

if you are here Thurs-Sat try Borough Market...very cool n trendy!

The best food market in London with some great places to eat & drink.

Its also Wimbledon next week so if you travel to SW19 (train or tube) you might get tickets.

...have fun...its one of the world's greatest cities!

  3. To make your experience more personal and in-depth, I heartily recommend London Walks. It's a company that has many local storytelling experts who lead colorful walking tours on specific subjects like Edwardian pubs, literary Bloomsbury, medieval Westminster, etc.

  4. start off with the open top bus tour ... it will give you the overview and help you get oriented ... I'd suggest you don't get off the bus and go into places or otherwise you'll never get to finish the tour ... from the look of the outside and from the commentary make a list of the places you want to look at in depth and go back afterwards using ordinary public transport (have a look on the Transport for London website www.tfl.gov.uk where you'll find the underground maps, details of the Oyster card and one day travelcards) ... with the open top bus tours you quite often get a free Thames boat ride which is good, especially between Greenwich and Westminster pier

there are so many things you could do it would take you weeks to do them all ... after the open top bus you need to choose just one or two to spend some time in

  5. If you like history and castles and have the money, rent a car and head out to Windsor Castle for a beautiful castle and Bath for some history at the Roman Baths.

You could also venture a little further north and visit the Jorvik Viking Museum in York...there's also some Roman Baths there beneath a pub.
