Hello folks again!! Tomorrow I'll be in London and, as you know, I come from Italy and need more information about London.

First of all: Here, there are 30 degrees and in London, as I can see, the weather is different..what can I put in my luggage?

After, I need to know:

1) What time does Harrod's get closed?

2) Are the main markets (i.e. Portobello, Greenwich and Camden) available for all the day or they get closed at a certain hour?

3) How long I should take at the"Madame Tussaud's"? How many hour I should take there?

Thank you in advance.

Recommend you bring a folding umbrella with you, particularly if you plan to stay out of doors for any length of time.

Compared to Italy, London is cool and this has been one of our wettest and coolest summers for about 100 years.  Hope you like rain.

  2. Wear layers and things that easily go on top of one another. It's around 20 degrees here and rainy and it can get quite windy, though it is warmer when it's sunny.

    1) What time does Harrod's get closed? From their website:

    Summer Store Trading Hours

    Monday to Saturday, 10am - 9pm

    Sundays, 11:30am* to 6pm

Summer Trading Hours continue up to

Saturday, 23th August, then back to below

    Opening Times

    (Including Bank Holidays)

    Main Store

    Monday to Saturday - 10am to 8pm

    Sunday - 11:30am* to 6pm

    Selected Food Halls Open

    Monday to Saturday - 9am to 9pm

    Sunday - 11:30am* to 6pm

    * Browsing only between 11.30am and 12 noon on Sundays

    2) Are the main markets (i.e. Portobello, Greenwich and Camden) available for all the day or they get closed at a certain hour? I would go in the morning, especially to Portobello. Camden Town is a nightmare at the weekend so you may just want to go on a Thursday or Friday. Almost everything will be open.

    3) How long I should take at the"Madame Tussaud's"? How many hour I should take there? Not sure but I think you'll have to queue so go early!

  3. A few shops open in Portobello tomorrow but most are on sundays;

I'd say that most of the shops in Camden will be open and you'll have so much less people than on a saturday or sunday

  4. 1 - :/ I don't know. Sorry! Go on the website.

2 - Depends. I they should be open for the majority of the day. Trust me, you wont be hours and hours there unless you're a shopaholic.

    3 - 3 hours? Depends

  5. I shouldn't think it will be as much as 30 degrees in London this weekend - more like 15 - 20.  It will probably rain as it's been raining all week so bring a waterproof jacket, jeans and an umbrella.  It might have a few sunny spells so bring a couple of t-shirts and sunglasses too.

Harrods is open every day until 9pm. http://www.harrods.com/HarrodsStore/Glob...

Try to avoid Notting Hill on Saturday as it's carnival and will be very crowded, unless you want to go to carnival.  It's a mainly black event but all races go.  There will be costumes and jerk chicken.

I would definitely avoid Portobello Road market this weekend as it's close to Notting Hill. Greenwich is open all day and Camden is too but I would choose one as they're not close together.

Madame Tussauds takes ages to queue to get in so allow at least 30 minutes queueing to get in and at least an hour to go round.
