London - new host for NBA season matches
Basketball is one of the most popular sports in America, and it is also loved by many European countries as well. It is news to cherish for the British and European basketball players and fans that this world class game is coming to London next year.
The NBA (National Basketball Association) has announced its plan to organize some professional events in the shiny, glamorous city of London. O2 Arena in London, Great Britain will be the place where this marvellous event will take place. Next year in March, Toronto Raptors will face New Jersey Nets on the 4th and 5th. This is no doubt; this will be an event which will change the basketball culture in Great Britain. National Basketball Association boss, David Stern has already given hints about the future event. Before the Olympics, this event will help the players, and basketball association to analyse and to get prepared before entering into the biggest event.  When the star basketball player from Great Britain Luol Deng of Red Bulls took on Utah in the O2 Arena in London, it was the moment the crowd eagerly felt the need of basketball in Europe.
While talking about this remarkable change and basketball interest in England, David Stern said that it is a great time for basketball and for basketball fans as well. Playing in London is a milestone for NBA, and NBA is now a global association, as it is enhancing the passion and acceptance of basketball game in the world. While discussing about the announced match between Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets in London, Stern said that this will be an indelible mark in the history of basketball, and the event is going to be perfect for the basketball future in Great Britain. Stern added that by bringing these two teams to start a regular basketball season in England before Olympics is like a dream coming true. David added on it feels very good to achieve the desired targets and to promote basketball in Europe. Later in the conference, Stern said that he is expecting the best from the upcoming event, and the tickets for the event will be available from September of this year. The O2 has hosted a few pre-season NBA games, and will host major events for the NBA in future. O2 arena of London will be hosting the major games of basketball from the Quarter final stage of 2012 Olympics edition. Stern further said, while talking to the media about progression and support for the game and expressed that before Olympics it will help the game of basketball grow at a rapid pace in Europe. Stern said that in London the response from the people is amazing, and he is happy to see the acceptance and love of basketball in London.
The month of October is certainly going to be amazing as the famous Los Angeles Lakers will take on the veteran opposition Minnesota Timberwolves in the Europe Live Series. NBA events have already been organised, and played in the arenas of Japan and Mexico but now is the time for Europe to witness the world’s best basketball teams competing against each other. Europe will definitely generate enormous revenue for the National Basketball Association, and David Stern the boss of NBA is very well aware of the fact. American Hockey and football national leagues have been organising major events in Europe and in London as well for years and now it’s time for Basketball.
Basketball is a game which catches and cashes all the glitz and glamour of the sports world. Its promotion and events will definitely drag the eyes and ears of millions of basketball fans to Europe and London. As NBA fans, we should keep our hopes high to see the history in the making.
