I'm an Essex girl, so i suppose i'd have to say Essex too. Conversely, I did live in East London Docklands for a while but I still prefer Essex.

I'm an Essex girl (blonde too) and I live on the outskirts of Southend. I would always say Essex, but I'm a bit biased. It depends whether you would need to commute for work, of course, and how you feel about a 45 minute train journey each morning, but the houses/rents are far cheaper here and Southend has a lot to offer. I wouldn't live anywhere else.
