London to Amsterdam - Ferry - How far in advance do I need to book?

Question

I will be travelling from London to Amsterdam by Ferry In September - How far in advance do I need to book? If I wait until I am in London then book about 5days in advance am I likely to get a ticket? I would be wanting overnight Ferry double cabin on a Wednesday Night.
