Question:

London to Scotland?

I'm writing a book and wanted to know. I'm not even sure if you'd have to take a ship from London to Scotland, but any information would be great. Remember, this story is taking place in the 1800's, so horseback and ships would be the only ways they could go. Days? Thanks.

  1. You do not have to take a ship from London to Scotland. Look at a map, for heaven's sake. There were trains back then, too, dear. Ships were used to traverse large bodies of water, like the Atlantic Ocean, for example.

As a writer, I can tell you right now that you're barking up the wrong tree. Right about what you know, or about what you are at least willing to research well. You cannot publish a story that is not authentic.
