  1. millennium wheel/london eye straight across the road from it

you'll be on it 27 mins walking to it 10 mins queue 15mins

    so thats 1 hour gone.....

cross the river on the 26 or 76 bus towards tottenham or hackney wick

get off in ludgate hill for st pauls cathedral but its about £8 to go in.

journey time by bus 20 mins max in traffic.

westminster is 1 stop away on jubilee line you can look round house of commons/parliament

need to go thru security--allow 15mins for that once inside 40 mins

westminster abbey across the road  again theres a fee to pay to enter but say you want to go in to just worship and the fee is waived.

from westminster abbey take a bus up whitehall or walk 20 mins apx to trafalgfar square

    national gallery etc.

fastest way back get just about any train from charing cross to waterloo east ad your back at waterloo east  just go down escalator back into waterloo itself

    enjoy!

  2. The London Eye is walking distance (c.15 mins) from Waterloo Station, although actually booking to go on it is something you'll have to look into separately.  If you want to walk to Westminster and take a look at Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, that's about 20-25 minutes down York Road and across Westminster Bridge.

By tube, the West End of London is about 15 minutes away from Waterloo - get the northbound Northern Line from Waterloo (escalators down from the Mainline station).  Get off at Charing Cross for Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, get off at Leicester Square for the cinemas (and a 10 minute walk to Piccadilly Circus), get off at Tottenham Court Road for the shops of Oxford Street and a 10 minute walk to the British Museum.

  3. The london eye i believe.

  4. You...have got the best area there....

Off the top of my head...The London eye is just on the river almost next to waterloo, the Aquarian, The Tate gallery is across the river, Trafalgar square is about 15 mins walk away. the list goes on...

You will be in an area on the river called 'The South Bank' and the area is absolutely packed with tourist stuff.

    Lucky you

  5. Waterloo Station itself may be an attraction...last time there were some pretty interesting specimens of human beings in there. What I am saying is that sometimes people ignore what is right in front of them. Have fun and don't make too much of a schedule about it - tourism is a spontaneous thing. But if you have a mobile internet surely you can find out what is around the station. it has been too long for me to be of much help. London is full of historical sites in that area.

  6. The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the Tate Modern (is actually within walking distance), the Millennium Bridge, the London Eye, the National Gallery, Lambeth Palace, the Tate Gallery, Soho, Covent Garden, Holborn, Whitehall etc.  Waterloo can give you access to a lot of another places as well but they might take a little longer than four hours.
