Lonely Boy succeeded in presenting an all round display in the Yorkshire St Leger Finals for C Lister
Covering the trip of 661 meters in an amazing estimated time, Charlie Lister’s hound Lonely Boy accomplished in taking home the title of Yorkshire St Leger. On the 16th of November 2011, the dirt track of Doncaster scheduled the final chase of
the Grade OR race, entailing the mouth watering purse of £8,000.
The trap 3 racer C Lister’s dog and the black b***h, Charleys Noire, battled vigorously throughout the show, but Lonely Boy succeeded in the end by setting the mark at 41.08 seconds.
As the signal was received, the warrior hounds cracked out through their traps, in urge to grab the spot light. Trainer S Aveline’s Charleys Noire took the lead as she commenced from trap 6, wearing white and black jacket with a red number over it.
The abruptness and promptness in her pace helped her in setting an early lead. The two-year-old black b***h acquired command over the trap 3 racer Lonely Boy and settled in the middle.
Sustained at the precious spot till the third stretch, suddenly S Aveline’s b***h took a slight bump, which provided C Lister’s Lonely Boy a chance to produce a tremendous run.
Tucked Charleys Noire form right behind, C Lister’s dog came into rule and travelled beautifully all the way to success.
Charleys Noire’s pace became quite sluggish at the back stretch run. The b***h chased the leader from second spot and cried out for room, but the three-year-old Lonely Boy with 6-4 F odds impressively entered in the escape turn, by holding the trap 6 racer
right behind with a modest margin.
Breaking through the finish line, C Lister’s dog superbly over threw Charleys Noire by 1 ¾ length and confirmed his ownership of the purse.
Besides the two hounds who acquired the top two positions, the rest of the pack followed them by a minimal distance throughout the show.
The trap 1 racer trainer S Mason’s Droopys Arshavin was shadowed by J Calvert’s Luminous Park, J Hayton’s Goodview Hondo and Native Spree who rallied for G Oswald.
Off with a slow start the trap 1 racer managed to conclude his quest in total 41.60 seconds, while the black dog Luminous Park after experiencing hindrance in the second stretch finished off fourth by a shoulder in 41.60 seconds.
J Hayton’s trap 5 racer, after dashing through his box got obstructed during the first round, due to which he was not able to retain  his previous pace and travelled though the middle of the track.
Goodview Hondo reached the finish line in 41.74 seconds and managed to vanquish Native Spree who was the last one to cross over by a shoulder.
The trap 2 racer for G Oswald wrapped up his chase in 41.75 seconds and lost the opportunity to enjoy the festivity of victory.
Lonely Boy with the highest bets along with the accomplishment of experiencing the easiest win, in the Yorkshire St Leger Final for trainer C Lister, took home the handsome purse of £8,000.
