my family recently adopted a lovebird. hes adorable. he loves to cuddle and just be around everyone in the family. about a month ago, we have noticed a different behavior with him. at first we thought the bird was dancing on our head. we now know that he is infact not dancing but masterbating on our heads! help! my family was told to not pay any attention to the behavior becuase if we stop him, he may become aggressive. but my question is; is there anyway to get him to stop humping our heads and use sometime inanimate?

  1. well perhaps u can get him a girlfriend so he puts most of his attention on her rather than u. otherwise there is nothing you can do

  2. hehehe Get him a little green stuffed animal maybe one that squeaks. Like a small dog toy My Rocko god rest his sol had one and he left my head alone. That may help. Good luck. Its funny my Quaker is inlove with my husband feet.

  3. Well, you can take him to a special avian vet and maybe see about having it weaned. Weaning is kind of like fixing a dog or a cat, but with birds. However, this can be expensive, and be dangerous to your bird, depending on age, and size.

There is really nothing you can do. However, this is a high form of respect. It may be disturbing to watch, but he is just telling you that he respects you, and he loves you... thats why he is trying to mate you...

He just thinks that you are the perfect match for him!!!
