Long Cycles and Clearblue Fertility Monitor ?

I bought a CBFM and am on my second month of using it. My cycles are roughly 55 days.

The 1st time i used it i didn't pick up a peak as it tested from day 9 to 29 then stopped as i'd used the max 20 sticks. i ov around day 40.

When my period arrived i reset it and assumed it would remember my last cycle was 55 days and prob start testing around day 20/25. But it hasn't and wants to start testing me again from today cd6 which is way to early as my period is still with me and i know i won't ov till around day 40 so i'll end up using the max 20 sticks again without getting a peak reading.

can anyone advise me on why its not remembered my last cycle? does the cbfm not work if you have a long cycle

The monitor is good for regular cycles only.They consider regular between 21 and 42 days. I'd go to the doc to see what's going on.

If you had read the instructions it advises that this method of tracking is not suitable for people with a cycle length over a certain amount of days!!!  If you have a long cycle or very irregular periods you can still use this monitor but it will not work the same way as it does for people with shorter more regular cycles.  You wil need to use 20 sticks every month and it wont remember your previous cycle because it is programmed to think you made a mistake and assumes that cycle was invalid  With your cycles being so long I suggest that you see a dr to see if there is anything that they can do to shorten them slightly because you may never get an accurate result from this monitor.

My bfs sister bought herself a persona one and used 16 sticks every month for 8 months because her cycle is irregular due to pcos but it did work and she now has a gorgeous baby girl to show for her patience.  Maybe you are not ovulating regularly, another sign of a hormone imbalance so again I suggest you see a dr for some advice so you at least know where you stand when using this to help you conceive.
