Question:

Long Distance Access Codes?

I recently found the website, www.looneycall.com, and found it great to use.

My friend from the U.S was going to use his landline phone, to call my CELLPHONE.

We checked the rates, it will cost him $1.00 for 100 minutes,

I was wondering if it would cost me anything to receive the call? I didn't think it would, but would it cost me since I am receiving the call on my cellphone? I know it will use minutes, but will it actually cost me money to receive the call?

  1. People calling you long distance will always be paying the toll charges.... unless they call you "collect" and you will-fully say "yes, I accept the charges".

Otherwise, no you are not charged to "receive" long distance calls.

However, LoonieCall is a Canadian company.  So, I am not sure he can even call "from" the USA.  But, if the 1010-565 access number works for him then, it will only cost him to call, not you.

Otherwise, he can do the same thing using YAK America.

Yak and Loonie Call are both owned by the same company - Globalive Communications.

With Yak, he just dials 1010-925, then the long distance number.

All charges go directly through his phone company monthly bill..... automatically.
