Long distance / true love story?

So..

At age 15, my Grandma Gloria left her country (Australia) after meeting my Grandpa who went there during the Peace Corps. She left her family and took a boat to the United States and together they lived out of their car. She married him when she was 16.. and they've been together for 65+ years, they are very well off now.. It's a really inspiring story, does anyone know of any similar stories, and wants to share?

Tell me there's still good people in this world like that?

Yeah, my parents are the same way my mom lived in the Philippines and my dad in America and she quit college to get married with him and moved to America (been together for 20ish years). And my grandparents met in ww2.... so yeah...

The Peace Corps started in 1961, 47 years ago. Peace Corps Volunteers don't go to Australia. Are you sure about your facts? Could your grandfather have been in the MARINE Corps? They went to Australia in World War II.

and I know it's not that far compared to your folks, but your story still inspired hope that my relationship might work out, even though there's distance.
