Question:

Long period, Do I have PCOS?

I've been quite irregular lately, which is odd for me, because I'm almost always on time.

So I was really late, two months in a row, and then I skipped a month, started and then two an a half weeks later started again and since then I've been on my period for 3, going on 4 weeks.

I have a doctors appointment and I've been looking up online possible answers and the most common seems to be PCOS.

Does anyone else have PCOS and if so, did it start like this? Also can you share your doctors diagnoses experience with me? I'm young and rather scared. :/ Is the doctor going to have to do an exam "down there"?

Thanks for any help and support.

  1. I have PCOS and went through the same thing in 1992.

Since I was bleeding at the time, I did not have an exam, but my history  was taken along with my telling her what was happening.  I was put on the pill to stop the bleeding and to regulate my periods.  I had to go back in six months to see how I was doing on the pill and to be examined.

Some doctors test you for PCOS, but I wasn't.  She went by all of my symptoms of PCOS.  Even though I had PCOS since I was 19 I was misdiagnosed until 1993.

PCOS is nothing to be scared about.  There are many medications to help control the symptoms of it.  Women with PCOS  can have kids with help.
