I've heard that long term parking problems with the batteries (such as leaving it parked at the airport for an extended period of time) but I cannot find any information on the net. Is there any truth behind this?

  1. In order to keep a hybrid car's HV battery charged up (the car's onboard computer will always try to keep the battery charged at its "sweet spot" between 60-75%, which is optimum for its longevity), you need to run the hybrid car at least once every 2 months.

That means you can keep the car parked for 2 months at a time, max.

I doubt you will want to leave a car in an airport's long-term parking lot for that long though.  The parking lot fee would be horrendous.  :-P
