  2. Not a problem.  I did it for 8 months.  No biggie.  A bit of back soreness at first, but that's it.  Good luck.

Oh, by the way, mine was on an air mattress.

  3. I'd go for the futon myself. They can be pretty comfy. Air mattresses for me tend to leave me sleeping on the floor by morning and if they do stay full they are cold and uncomfortable. It's up to you though.

  4. Get an air mattress and put a memory foam mattress topper pad on it. Just make sure to get a very nice one...

  5. Three months on an air mattress in law school. Never a problem.

Several years on a futon after the air mattress popped. They get hard after a time, packed down. Need to rotate them and fluff them on occasion.

  6. futon.

its like a bed, and can fold up to have a place to sit too.

You'll like it a lot more, besides, and air mattress is bulky and you'll have to fill it like 4305874 times in the night. Then, when they get a hole, your [effed].

    Futon all the way!

and hey, you may be broke, but atleast you are getting an education.

  7. Air mattress. Get a nice double one... feels like a water bed or something. I did this in my first apartment, but the cats kept popping the mattress with their claws and I got tired of waking up on the floor.  My mom thought I was nuts until she laid down on it one day and then she understood why I didn't want a real bed... lol

  8. I'd go with the futon but i keep them folded up like a couch..they are big enough where it still feels like a bed...but you have the nice cushion for your back!!!
