  1. If you mean paddleboard, as used to lay or kneel on and paddle, sure. The distinction between boards to stand up on and boards to paddle on has only come about in the last 40 or 50 years. Once upon a time, surfers would paddle long distances to get to off shore reefs or inaccessible breaks on long paddle boards, which they would then catch waves on. There are some places where surfers still paddle long distances to surf, but distance paddling is reserved for big long paddleboards.

    If you mean SUP, (Stand up paddle board,) the answer is yes to that also.

    In both cases it is important that you have a board that is buoyant enough to float you well out of the water and it should work fine. The size of the long board you want to use as a paddleboard depends mostly on you body mass.
