Longbow Question?

Im getting into longbows, & i want to know everything i could possibly need, for instince, what kind of release do i need etc. im going to buy the Martin Stick longbow, is it a good bow?

  1. If your going traditional you need finger tabs,

    - (no mechanical releases allowed, 'not cricket old boy').

    Martin will give you a good bit of lemonwood.

    The rest is up to you.

    You need to know a whole lot more than we can tell you here.

    There are some good books on the subject.


  2. Like Irv said, no releases on longbows, either tabs or gloves.  Most people I've seen prefer gloves for longbows.  If you want to hunt with it, the you definitely want gloves, tabs can fall off and such, gloves just stays there and not get in the way of your fingers.

    I don't believe I've seen anyone with that one.  I know a few people who are very happy with their Martin Vision, it's an american longbow, so it has a slight recurve at the tips.  Making it smoother to shoot.
