Longest your pets gone missing?

whens the longest your dog/cat/rabbit/hamster any pet has gone missing, mainly dogs because mine has been missing for 3 weeks on sunday and i just want to know some success stories to be honest but tell me the longest any pet of yours has been gone and how u got it back

We found our dog after 5 weeks in the dogs home, despite contacting them and giving his description they said they did not have a dog like that with them, we called to see then and found him in the very last pen, a bit thinner but OK

my cat went missing for over a week once, but i think cats tend to do that more than dogs.

If I were you I'd try and phone the pound to see if your dog has been picked up. Maybe make some flyers and stick them up around the neighbourhood. Hopefully somebody will respond.

I don't think it's normal for dogs to go missing for that length of time, I hope he's ok. good luck

my cat went missing for 5 months a young couple found him and took him in and they saw one of my old posters and called me,legally he was theirs because if you dont claim it withing a certain time it is theirs however they gladly returned it knowing that he was going home,they  had only had him for 3 months so he must have been out and about for 2 months on his own,apparently he was extremly underwieght when they found him,dont give up hope.there was a story in a mag i read about a dog that went missing for 2 years and 6 months and was found 2 years after he went missing by a nieghbour of the man,so was returned.x hope you find your dog.

Our Shih Tzu was missing for 3 weeks when he came back he had been to the hairdressers and was nicely clipped , but on a sad note our Springer Spaniel that was also stolen has been gone 3 years in september and I still think of him each day .

There have been cases of dogs coming back after 4 years so I live in hope . Good luck for you.

please don't worry my cat went missing for a month and a half and i found him in a tree near my house, just keep looking and don't give up hope.

my rabbit went missing since Thursday to Sat but our freinds found her and brought her back but she was coverd in fleas. P.S hope you find ur dog

OK, so listen to this, because it's actually quite amazing.

And hopefuly it will make you feel better.

My Aunt lived in a really small town and she had a cat. One day the whole town basically caught on fire, and everyone was immediately evaccuated, bu no one could bring their pets with them. So my aunt didn't want to leave her cat behind, and went to an island near the town. Where she was, the smoke had got too thick and when it was time to leave the island, she could not find her cat, so she left him behind and went to the place where she was staying until everything go sorted out. The fire department would go feed all the pets in the town that had gotten left behind (but they didnt know there was a cat on that island, so they didnt feed it). About 3 Months later,the cat had found it's way back home. It had swam across to the town from the island and found it's way back. :]

Don't give up, your pet will find it's way back home, and if it doesn't, someone else will have found him and would be taking good care of him/her. Put flyers up, and look everywhere for him/her. Good luck, I hope you fnd your friend! xxoxox

Our Cocker Spaniel was missing for three weeks.  We put posters up, telephoned all the local vets. etc and at last found him in a vets surgery miles away.  The dog had been knocked down and went wild when he saw us.  We also had a cat that got into a moving van and it took her over a month to find her way back, over 300 miles.  When she got home, she was thin, her coat was in a terrible mess, she had tar on her paws, which were bleeding in some places, but she soon recovered with lots of TLC.

My bunny ran away for two weeks and i cried my heart out. We put up flyers all around and one day a person called and told us they saw her running around someones frontyard, Luckily those people took care of my bunnie when she was there. :)

And dont worry your dog loves you and surely will come back put up flyers around your neighborhood and on mailboxes ask people around if they've seen your dog roaming aroung call out her name Maybe shell hear you and come back to you. Hope i've helped :))

My  tom cat went missing for three and a half weeks and came back one evening very hungry and apart from that not very different to how he was before he left,

Most recently my parrot got out most people said i would never see him again but i had half of the U.K looking for him and four days later the wonderful R.S.P.C.A rang me to say they had found my bird. That was a massive relief.

I went on the Internet i rang every animal shelter RSPCA , RSPB little animal groups if they had a number i called them and in turn they called everyone they knew. Before long there were people all over the U.K asking for further details. I got my baby back and i still have him.

Dont give up on your dog

I would list every dog pound, RSPCA and any other animal shelter, Dog wardens to the local councils within a 100 mile radius call them all. Keep calling them

My friends dog went missing once he was found three months later he had been taken in by a family two streets away who thought he was a stray.

Keep smiling and dont give up i hope you find your dog xx
