Question:

Longish hair style for boy toddler.

My son's hair is at an in-between stage - too short to tuck behind his ear and long enough to get into his eyes. I do not want to cut his hair but I dont want to put it in barrettes or anything else "girly" The only time he is mistaken for a girl is when he is with his sister (they are twins) and people just assume they are both girls as she is very feminine. I tried a skullcap and his sister will not leave them alone and end up pulling it down over his eyes so he gets mad and takes it off. Any other suggestions?

Oh and no I am not going to cut it. He has been poked and prodded by too many doctors and is as a result terrified of strangers. I cant cut it straight and I am not going to subject him to this torment when I dont have to.

  1. I would say gel or hats. Other than that there really isn't much else  to do with Boys longer hair.

Maybe if your daughter gets to wear something in her hair she might leave his hats alone.

  2. gangsta

  3. :) Long hair on boys in my culture is a norm so I can help pull it back in a low ponytail or braid it that's what we do!

  4. Try giving him a ponytail

  5. I'd just go buy some clippers and give him a short little boy cut. It really doesn't take skill.  It's not that traumatic either.  My 2 year old son's hair grows really fast, and we keep it short, so he gets it cut every 6 weeks or so....he actually looks forward to going....and they let him play with all the combs.

  6. yeah dont cut it, a little kids worst nightmare is a haircut from mom

long hair on boys is currently very stylish, if he has curly hair cornrows are the best way to go. dressing him up in boyish clothes would make it alot less likely for someone to mistake him as a girl

  7. my sons hair is long... we just gave him a trim on his fringe so now thats at eyebrow length and the rest is at his shoulders... its easy enough to do... if your worried about him getting scared then do it whiles hes napping... he wont even notice...

    good luck

  8. i used gel on my toddler to slick it back.
