Longwood Fantasy gets the best odds for Ladbrokes Spring Festival Dogs - Heat 2
Longwood Fantasy has been given the best odds for winning the Ladbrokes Spring Festival Dogs - Heat 2 at Monmore in England on Monday, March 19, 2012. A cash prize of £150 will be awarded to the winner of the 480 metres flat race.
The Grade OR event will begin at 15:07 GMT and six hounds will be seen in action. The names of these runners are: Longwood Fantasy, Droopys Betson, Farloe Mysterio, Cleveland Peter, Bit View Micko and White Coat.
Despite not being in winning form at the moment, Longwood Fantasy has managed to win the confidence of the bookmakers. He will have to deliver something special in order to live up to the expectations of everyone.
C. Callow’s trainee has got plenty of experience of racing at Monmore and he seems to like the conditions, as he has done well at this venue. However, his most recent outing was at Swindon, where he ended up as runner up.
The black dog was able to challenge the front runners in that event and could have won it in the end, as he finished just 0.04 seconds adrift of the race winner. He can turn the tables this time around though, as he is in good shape at the moment.
Considering the recent performance of Longwood Fantasy, the bettors will be encouraged to risk money on him. However, they will be looking at some other options as well.
Today’s favourite hound is the son of Premier Fantasy out of Final Patsy and was born in July 2009.
Another greyhound, who appears to be in good rhythm at the moment, is Droopys Betson. His last few outings proved to be quite good, as he won a couple of them whereas finished runner up in a recent trial.
The punters will definitely be interested in placing some bets in favour of P. Curtin’s trainee, who has very good chances of finishing on top of the table. The blue dog is the son of Timor Blue out of Droopys Lotto and was born in November 2009.
Other than the top two favourites, Farloe Mysterio and Cleveland Peter might also manage to cause an upset in the race. However, the remaining participants do not seem to be in a position of fighting for the top three.
