Longwood Houdini to get Bags/Sis 500 – Heat 3 at Monmore on 5th March
Monmore is to stage the Grade A6 Bags/Sis 500 – Heat 3 over 480 metres flat on Monday, 5th March. The hound who will race through the wire quickest will get entitled to the £150 prize money.
Longwood Houdini, College Causeway’s two-year-old white and black son out of b***h Betathan Pebbles, is trained by C. Price. He has raced during the 2012 season nine times and out of that he has struck a pair of victories, one after the other, on the record.
It took Longwood Houdini his sixth attempt of the season to post a win.
On 4th February, Longwood Houdini won a Grade A7 480 metres race at Monmore over 480 metres. After breaking from the fifth stall it took Longwood Houdini 29.69 seconds to clock the track distance. He was entered as a 6/4 favourite of the race.
Ardmayle Pal was the runner up with covering the distance in 30.01 seconds while the third hound to finish the race behind the winner was Home Ross.
Home Ross and Longwood Houdini will compete with each other today too but there are quite apparent chances that even this time Longwood Houdini will dominate the field.
His very next race on 11th February at Monmore over 480 metres resulted in a victory. The two-year-old reached the other end of the wire in 29.75 seconds while at an advantage of three and a half lengths.
The 9/4 favourite of the race, Cleveland Joe finished the race closest to the winner after covering the distance in 30.03 seconds.
Following the leading pair and joining them beyond the track distance was Roseville Rage.
Longwood Houdini’s most recent racing attempt was on 24th February at Monmore in a Grade A6 480 metres flat race. Devil You Know went through the track distance in 28.90 seconds while the runner up who was reeling in for the wire took 29.10 seconds to make it on the other end of the wire.
Longwood Houdini made it to the third position behind the winner of the race by managing the track distance in 29.16 seconds. He was entered as a 3/1 collective favourite of the race.
He will make the tenth start of the season and is expected to go through the wire before any other hound on the lot.
