Geared up for the first semi-final of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, has claimed that his side is not going to take this fixture any different than the group matches.
The Proteas will be up against the hosts tomorrow at the Oval in the all-important encounter. The knockout stage of the competition provides an ideal opportunity to South Africa to remove the unwanted tag of ‘chokers’, which has been attached to them since
the last couple of decades.
South Africa has a miserable history in the knockout matches of global tournaments but Tsotsobe feels that the current squad is relaxed because they had to play tough cricket in the group matches, which has prepared them well for the knockout fixtures.
“It doesn’t feel any different,” Tsotsobe said. “We know it’s a semi-final and it’s the big stage, but the boys are still in the same mindset that they had during the group matches. Every match there was a big game so nothing has changed.”
South Africa have been deprived of the services of some of the major players in the event like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at Cardiff and was ruled out of the
event; whereas, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DW-Steyn-c1409, South Africa’s premier fast bowler, missed the first couple of games due to a side niggle.
In such a scenario, Tsotsobe took the responsibility on his shoulders and delivered the goods for the Proteas. The left-armer believes that the additional responsibility got the best out of him.
“I think it’s always a good thing to have responsibility on your shoulders,” the left-arm pacer added. “You know that there are people looking out for you, people who are backing you to lead and I think it was a good move for me.”
With the return of Steyn, South Africa’s bowling has surely been bolstered; however, they would have to be at the top of their game tomorrow at the Oval, with the English team showing good batting form in recent matches.
