Last year my boyfriend brought me home this vintage dresser set. At first I thought it was ugly but after a while it grew on me. The othewr day I was moving it around and i noticed a year on the back. It is from 1928. I cant seem to find anything like it anywere online!!

I would like to know what style it is, what is it actually called, and should I refinish it??

I know nothing about old furniture and desperatly need some some details!!

thank you, here is the link:

  1. Your link does not show a picture of your dresser

  2. DO NOT REFINISH IT..FIRST OF ALL..the picture did not show , however..when you strip the original finish from an antique..You decrease the value of it up to 90% depending on the furniture itself..You can have it appraised for about 40 dollars..but do not take it to a regular antique dealer for alot will appraise it at a very low price in hopes of buying it from you at that price..Take it to a regular appraiser that does this for a living and is not an antique dealer themselves..however they may be a collector..but not a dealer..The dealers will s***w you like this most of the time...search on the internet "antique furniture aprraises for "Your city"..AGAIN DO NOT TOUCH THE ORIGINAL FINISH..

  3. I can't view the link you sent, if you change the link I would be more than happy to help you out! By the year I can tell you it is one of 3 styles so a picture would help me narrow it down. Thanks!
