Obama is a great guy. Smart man. I think it's a shame that some people will judge him on his race instead of the real issues. But I'm confident that he'll still win the election. The country is not going to stand for more Republicans!

The so-called "Bush tax cuts" were really tax rate reductions from top to bottom. Those people at the lower end of the income scale saw their tax rate reduced from 15% on the first $15,000.00 to 10%. There was no "huge giveaway" to the top income earners. Their tax rate went down and they were allowed to keep more of the money they earned.

If people were smart enough to read books like "Basic Economics: A Citizen's Guide To the Economy" and  "Economic Facts & Fallacies", both by Thomas Sowell the Democrats would never win another election for anything.

Under Obama's plan more than 90% of Americans will pay lower taxes than under McCain's plan.

Well...MOST 18 year olds make less than $250,000/year, which means they would actually get a tax cut when Obama becomes President.   The taxes they would have been paid under Bush/McCain would be paid for by people who can afford to pay it.

Obama wants to take the burden off working people.....the people struggling to put gas in the car and pay the mortgage.

I might not have the government taking my money yet but I've watched what Bush has done to my family. I've lived with the consequences, with my grandmother who raised four kids and started a very lucrative career at 30 only to lose her house at 70 and with my mother having to take up a second job just to make ends meet and I think that gives me the right to want change.

The democrats obviously do not get it. Why should I have the government take more of my money that i earned and worked very hard for? Also, we often end up giving the IRS too much money for taxes and get a rebate. We all get so excited about it, but think about how much you could have earned if that money had been invested?
