Lookin 4 opinions on gabba centre square surface??

its always in the papers up here in qld.. just wonderin if it is a hot topic in other states, especially vic...

a lions player up here (scott harding) is considering sueing stadiums qld (organisation that look after all stadiums in qld) or qld government for damages after suffering knee injury that kept him out for 4 weeks...

any opinions???

We here about it once in awhile in Adelaide - especially when either the Crows or Power plays over there.

Looking at the games, I note most of the movements are on the wing. Jonathon Brown rarely goes inside the middle and neither does Bradshaw.

I think the AFL and Gabba management has a fiduciary duty to provide a safe environment eg can you imagine say

1) a lumpy cricket pitch,

2) boxing canvas that's ripped and torn

3) basketball court that has pieces of wood/nail sticking out?

Would Harding's court case be successful? Not sure? I remember Shaun Renn sueing about the centre circle several years ago. Can't remember he got anything from it.

The fence in Sydney is too close. Lucky that Barry Hall has not sued them yet because he was banned.

There has been coverage regarding the issue, and it has been mentioned that Black and some Brisbane players are suffering injuries and soreness due to the surface. I think they should install a drop-in cricket pitch, so the ground can be kept in good condition for the AFL season.

sorry..i haven't actually heard that...

here in sydney the occasional game at anz stadium gets a lot of coverage...

the surface is terrible

but if it is at a stadium that is always played afl at then definately it needs to be looked at

**This is the first I've heard of there being an issue with the surface of the centre square at the Gabba.  I'm from Melbourne and don't believe I've heard anyone making a big deal about it.**
