Question:

Looking For A Swing Doctor?

My swing has many problems, but I intend to correct it one problem at a time.

Currently my biggest problem is that when I swing threw the ball and make contact my club head turns counter clockwise (when looking down at it) in my hand. My ball goes straight for only a split second and then violently takes off to the left.

Any help on the subject matter will be greatly appreciated.

  1. We don't call them swing doctors. We call them teachers, golf instructors or PGA professionals. Take a few lessons in the basics of the golf swing and some of your problems may be solved.

  2. As a swing coach......there are any number of things that could be causing this.....I cannot diagnose nor correct that which I can not see.   a trip to your local teaching pro will probably do you more good than any well intended advice you may get on here

  3. wbaker is right you need to see someone.

It sounds to me like your club is slipping (from your description).

If not slipping then you may have your hands too far round to the right of the club.  Try moving them anti clockwise a little bit at a time and see if there is an improvement with each adjustment.

  4. Yea thats a snap hook. do u do it with every club or jus driver or irons? if its driver put the ball farther back in your stance. irons try to hit strait down on them dont scoop them or you will hook them.
