Question:

Looking at buying a Y reg (2002) Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.8 Petrol. How much should I pay?

The car I've looked at is in good condition with full service history along with all original accessories, from a garage. It's priced at £3000, but that seems high. What problems might I expect from a Picasso? All advice gratefully received

  1. I have no idea about any problems they may have, but price wise I would have thought £2250 would be nearer the mark.

  2. An SX 5 door Y Reg/2001 with the average mileage of 70,000 at that age is worth maybe £2500 tops.  Prone to all sorts of faults, especially electrics.

  3. You have a problem here: You can't get a 2002 'Y' plate.

    To be a 2002, it would have to be a 51,02 or 52.

    To be a 'Y' prefix, it would have to be a 2001.

    A 2001 'Y' is worth £2500 with average miles,

    if this is wrong, you can check here;

    They are reckoned to be pretty fault prone, but I think differently: Honest reviews here;
