  1. Never heard of Easyrail.com. go to  NATIONAL RAIL ENQUIRIES on the net you will find lots of info. if your travelling with your family buy a family and friends rail card on line for £24.00. You will get 1 third off adult fares & 60% off childrensthroughout graet britain. lots of other offers can also be found on this site.

  2. I always use www.thetrainline.com, and have never heard of the site you mention. In the UK, by and large the various railway companies serve discrete areas - there is no real competiton between most destinations. So if, for example, you wish to travel from London to Manchester, Liverpool, Preston or Carlisle you are bound to have to use Virgin Trains as there is no competition. If, however, you are travelling as far as Glasgow, you do have a choice as that is served both by Virgin and National Express East Coast.

As to whether Virgin is cheap it depends on how far ahead you propose to travel and how flexible you can be with your choice of service. Virgin does have some good offers - my son travelled to Manchester for £3 some months ago. It is always worth checking whether two single tickets are cheaper than a return - the reason I recommend the trainliene.com is because it always gives you that option and sets out the availabilty clearly.

    Best of luck!

  3. i've never heard of raileasy.

www.thetrainline.com is a similar site, which i have used a lot without any complaint.

if you're travelling on national express east coast, their website gives an extra 10% off certain fares.

virgin trains have some cheap tickets, but it depends on your flexibility regarding travel plans.

  4. If you are going to use the railway a lot, you would be better off buying a BritRail pass from your local travel advisor, this will give you numerous unlimited travel within the uk at anytime and will work out a lot cheaper and simpler than using internet sites as you will have the tickets in your hand instead of trying to wait for them to arrive.

If your only doing one or two journeys, it depends on distance and how far advanced you are booking (ideally 6 weeks minimum for best deals). Also dont forget there will be a post and packing, administration fee on top of the normal rail fare when booking online, the tickets will not be transferable to any other train or day once purchased as well, with no refund, so make sure you are sure you can travel on said dates and times.

    Good Luck

  5. always use http://www.nationalrail.co.uk myself. virgin not particularly cheap - depends when you book and what day and time you want to travel :)
