  1. This is a perfect reason why you SHOULD NOT buy surfboards on Craigslist (my apologies to all of you folks out there trying to unload a perfectly good board that way), because unless you are experienced enough to know what to ask or look out for, the 'burn' factor is tremendous.

If you want the board, do what Surfammo recommended, and see it in person. But If I were you, i'd follow the rest of Surfammo's advice and see MO. Surfammo gave you the best answer, 'cause he even has a place to buy a stick. There is no substitute for buying from a known person, live, face to face when it comes to surfing. And if there is a god selection of used boards there, you have got it made! Good Luck.

  2. If this is a pre Global Industries board ( 2005 or earlier), it's a hand made Walden. You don't need more pictures, but you need to check it out in person. There aren't any pics of the deck, which is a little suspect. Look for discolorations under the glass (where water may have soaked into), which would indicate some delamination. Make sure the fin boxes are secure. I think this board is really low priced and it may be for more reasons than just dings. If the board is watertight, not buckled, has no delamination, offer him 100.00 bucks. It's a great learning board for up to 170 lbs. If you prefer a funboard, then don't buy this one; wait until you find what you really want. If you have an extra 150.00 bucks, go see Mo at The Factory in San Clemente. He has a huge selection at great prices, http://www.usedsurf.com/shop/index.php and he'll hook you up with the right board.

  3. i would definetly say you should look at the board in person because anything could have happened to it and to me, it sounds like this guy is trying to get rid of a bad board. i would get a new one or a used one from a surf shop.

  4. Walden Surfboards sell for about $800 new. One thing to think about is that he did all the repairs himself. I would ask for more pictures. Ask him the board was ever surfed with an open ding. It is a great deal but it depends on what the board looks like in person.
