Question:

Looking fatter after exercising?

I've been doing some very intense boxing workouts, 2 mile runs in the morning 2 hour practices in the afternoon, this past week and I was hopeing to lose a couple of pounds this week, but so far, I haven't lost anything and I actually look fatter, my stomach is sticking out and I just look so bloated. I'm sore all over. Is it possible to look "fatter" while doing intense workouts from water retention? I've been drinking a lot, but I haven't been peeing a lot. So can intense workouts cause water retentions?

  1. Sometimes i find myself not peeing all day because of non-stop sweating, which is normal. Your body needs water for more than sweating too, so some of it is retained. I've noticed that my belly sticks out after hydrating and eating before, or after a workout, but I usually weigh myself in the morning and all of it goes away.

If nothing works and you arent satisfied, I might suggest a liquid diet for a few days. Just be sure you are getting sufficient vitamins/minerals and protein. Sounds ironic, but liquid diets are good for losing the bloated look. All of that is from personal experience.

  2. Yes, it is possible. Don't exercise intensly for a while after you eat. I find that my stomach bloats after walking and running directly after eating.

Also....don't go overboard with the exercising. Make sure you are getting enough carbs.

  3. they possibly can cause i find the same thing happens to me. it could also be that you're getting really hot and you swell up when u get hot
