Looking for 100% silk ribbon...?

I need silk grossgrain ribbon for a hat project. I've been asked to make something similar to this: http://janeausten.info/moviegowns/PandP1996/Lizzie1996/lpleathatside.jpg

I may well need to dye the ribbon and the silk to make the hat, so need a nice 1" wide pure silk ribbon.

I've been looking for months without success, so all help gratefully received, and anywhere in the world other than ebay will be perfect. (ebay rejects me, so I prefer not to use it)

I'm sorry, but I can't find any 1" silk grosgrain ribbon either.  If it doesn't have to be pure silk, this site offers many colors and widths in grosgrain ribbon, in a very good quality:

I use to have a ribbon shop, however sold it in 2002 (Sacramento CA).  I had never seen any 1" wide silk grossgrain.  Grossgrain usually comes in polyster, however the better grossgrain are made in the U.S.& Japan.  The ribbons come in either cotton/rayon blend or 100% rayon. These types are much more pliable than the polyester ones.  I have the cotton/rayon blend, e-mail me if you're interested.  I do have 1" silk ribbon in black, white, pink, lavender but its the texture of silk fabric (sealed edges, no raw edges).

Here are other sources.  They're in L.A., Northern CA or New York:

MICHAEL LEVINE (Fabric District) Los Angeles;

THE RIBBONERY San Francisco (owner Paulette Knight);

LACIS in Berkeley CA (owner Kaethe Kliot).  

MOKUBA RIBBONS (very pricey, made in Japan.  Currently, this is best grossgrain around [along with the US made ones of cotton/rayon blend])   They have a store located in Mahattan, New York

HYMAN & HENDLER (very very pricey, lots of vintage ribbons) located in Manhattan New York

These are THE sources for any specialty ribbons that you're looking for.  If these locations don't have it, no one will.
