Avast, AVG, Avira, and TrendMicro all offer free versions of their antivirus products. http://www.download.com is a good source.

But keep in mind that most free security software is going to modestly suck. Regardless of what most users claim. Just pay the few bucks to get a full version from a decent vendor. If an infection comes around, you'll be glad you did.

I have been using AVG for years and it gets better with each release. http://free.grisoft.com. I used Avast, but went right back to AVG.
