I need some good ideas for sack lunches for my daughter. She is in 2nd grade and takes a lunch everyday. I keep food cold by ice packs but there is not microwave so nothing can be heated. She is sick and tired of sandwiches all the time but i really don't' know what else to give her. Looking for any suggestions please.

  1. I had the same issue with my daughter last year!!!  I know how you feel.  I came up with lots of ideas out of research and pure frusteration.

Get a good thermouse to keep things hot or cold

    http://www.thermos.com/product_catalog.a...

some good tupperwears in different sizes

try wrapps insttead of bread, roll it up and cut then into 1/2 inch slices, they look like rolls.  she called then ham and cheese nuggets

make your own lunchables with slices meats and chesses and crackers and a litttle sauce of some sort for dipping

fruit salad and cubes of cheese

    salad with tuna or chicken

    veggie sticks with ranch dip

some leftovers worked great in a thermos- soups heated well before leaving in teh morning, nacho dip (with hamburger) and chips

even cold chiken fingers went over well.

Ask her what she wants and be creative.  and let her make her lunch once a week with certain guide lines

if you need more help let me know

  2. lunch meat/cheese/crackers,,,,yogart, pudding packs, they make containers for cereal/milk combo.  there are also containers for salad/dressing.  try a pita instead of bread.  homemade muffins/granola.  get a thermos and put warm food in there for lunch.  pasta salad with pepperoni/cheese/veggies.  veggies and dip.  fresh fruit salad,,,

  3. get a thermas and heat up like spaghetti-o's or spaghetti macaroni soup or what ever heat it up nice and hot and put it in there. don't put it in the sac tho keep it away from the ice pack. and it should be warm still when she eats as long as she doesn't open it before then. I think they also make heat packs you might be able to stick in there. just like cooler bags i think they have heated bags you could also try making like homeade lunchables, like crackers with squares of meat and squares of cheese, or little taco tortillas with some fixens for tacos

  4. small tubs of pasta? tuna salad? put soup in a flask? dairylee dunkers ? good luck kids are hard to please

  5. Cheese crackers pepperoni salami

    Tortillas with different combos~

    * cooked chicken with parm cheese and pizza sauce

    * bacon lettuce tomato

    * all the veggies she will eat

Graham Crackers with cream cheese, jelly, and peanut butter for dipping
