Looking for something to cover outdoor stone steps that will

  1. Personally I wouldn't put any mats down on the steps for the simple reason that the build up of ice and snow will render the scraping harder and in the process you will damage any type of covering that you put on the steps, the only safe way would be to remove whatever accumulation you have on the steps with a shovel and sprinkle some of this on the steps

we have been using this product for years and it always served us well .

  2. you can but a non slip coating for that application

either go on line to a major paint supply house,or go to one where you live,it comes in spray cans and will cover about 20 sq. ft. per can.

or you can do it your self. take some clear polyurethane and mix sand in it you get at the home improvement cntr.make sure the steps are cleaned off ,and dry, then just brush it on and let it dry about 1hr. between coats. one of my properties has a tile sidewalk in front of the office, and people were getting hurt,so i bought 4 cases of the non slip spray ,and this stopped it.

  3. You can check at Lowe's or Home depot.you will need rubberized mats, but they may still freeze in the winter.
